Scavenge Arts
is Emily Eschner
Emily lives in Portland, Maine with her husband, daughter, and backyard chickens. She spends much of her time organizing others administratively as an Office Manager, but in her spare time she lives for ice cream cones in the summer and reading books by the wood stove in the winter. Oh, and sometimes, she makes art, which you can buy to share with others or decorate your home.
Emily’s medium of choice is collage and her specific technique is mosaic. Her first piece in this style was a self portrait in high school, when her interest in recycling prompted her to scavenge materials including discarded magazines and chocolate foil wrappers in pursuit of the perfect colors and textures for her palette. All of Emily’s original artwork is made by gluing torn paper, typically from magazines, into a composite image. Completed originals go to one of two local printers for high-quality scanning and digitization before being turned into giclee prints or notecards.
